I am Adeline. I studied Visual Art in Australia, that strange and beautiful land filled with intriguing people, unusual nature and bizarre animals. There, a formidable teacher, convinced me out of my painstakingly rendered pencil drawings into stylized images thereby helping me elevate my pictures into visuals which went beyond mere representation. With time and sustained practice, I learnt to find my own voice while responding to a story, I emboldened my lines, I infused mood and strengthened my skills; in other words, I learnt to express myself effectively  by amplifying my point of view through stylization and  metaphor rather than repetition alone.

I create primarily in Black and White because I believe it gets to the core of the truth. A picture in color is to be looked at but the contrasts of Black and White compel us to think. I revel in the directness of working with charcoal. With this medium I draw not just with my fingers but with the energy of my entire body. Charcoal is both decisive and subtle; it can be sensual as well as intellectual. It allows me the clarity and expressiveness I desire while creating my drawings.
