I engage in image-making as a response to my surroundings. Drawing allows me to perceive what I am looking at, explore what I am thinking and bring about awareness and clarity within me that manifests itself on paper.
I studied Visual Art in Australia where I was convinced out of my painstakingly rendered pencil drawings into stylized images which added dimensions to my work that moved it beyond replication. With time and sustained practice, I learnt to explore my thoughts, engage my imagination and above all recognize my voice within my drawings and nurture it, I emboldened my lines, infused mood and strengthened my skills; in other words, I learnt to express myself effectively by amplifying my point of view through stylization and metaphor rather than repetition alone.
